Where the details come from
We read the public pages of tour operators and official sources, such as government tourism pages. For booking platforms that offer a partner API, we also check through the API that each tour we list is still for sale and is run by the operator we name. We do not copy descriptions, prices, ratings or reviews from booking platforms.
We research, write and check our pages with AI tools, under the rules on this page: every value needs a source and a date, unknowns stay “Not confirmed”, and automated checks stop a page that breaks a rule. Luca Godano, who runs this site, is responsible for its content.
What verified means
Every value in a comparison table links to the sources it comes from, with the date we checked them. When the sources disagree, the table says the value varies and explains why. When no source we trust states a value, the table says “Not confirmed” instead of guessing. Travel blogs and forum posts help us find the questions travellers ask, but we do not use them as sources for the values we show.
How long a detail stays verified
Some details change faster than others, so we check them again on different schedules.
- Changes often
- Every 60 days
- Prices, fees and tourist levies, and the dates of new rules
- Past that date: hidden from the page until we check it again
- Changes sometimes
- Every 90 days
- Boats and ports, itineraries, what is included, pickup, opening hours and safety notices
- Past that date: shown with the date we last checked it
- Rarely changes
- Every 365 days
- Geography, administration and place names
- Past that date: shown with the date we last checked it
A whole tour listing is checked again every 90 days, a destination every 365 days.
Shortly before a detail reaches its date, it joins our verification queue and we check its sources again.
How we choose the tours we show
We list a tour only when we can tie the booking listing to its operator, through the operator’s own website or the booking platform’s API. Booking platforms and operators do not pay for a place on our pages, and they do not review our pages before publication.
On each comparison, tours are grouped by route. Within a route, the order is our own editing choice: it does not depend on the commission we earn or on any payment.
How we earn money
When you book through a link on our pages, the booking platform may pay us a commission. We do not charge you anything. The affiliate disclosure explains how this works.
